When I started working on this amigurumi, the idea was to make crochet latkans. A bird amigurumi was the first thought that came to my mind, and a parrot it was.
So these crochet latkans, had to be easy to make and less time-consuming. The most important factor to be considered was the size of the amigurumi, it had to be light and at least should fit in your palm. And, it had to be crocheted in one piece, without any sewing.
This bird amigurumi is crocheted in continuous rounds from the top to the bottom with no joins in between the rounds.
The bird amigurumi, starting from the head, body and tail are all done in one piece. Except for the beak and wings. You can choose to add the wings or not, it still looks beautiful without it.
I have got a range of patterns coming up on the blog to be used as crochet latkans, so stay tuned. You can choose to stuff them lightly, or leave it as such.
