Hello crocodile stitch!

I wanted to try out this new scalloped crochet stitch, so decided I’d make a house. As they seemed to look very much like a kids version of a roof-top with all that scaly texture. This pattern should work for most standard tissue boxes. Mine was approximately 22 x 13 cm, and it fit most other boxes lying around at my house. However I’ve given it some cardboard padding  in triangular shape to make them stand upright at the roof part as I want it to. Hope you can make sense, as to how I’ve cut and stuck my cardboard for the desired support.

House Roof-top:

Yarn : Acrylic brown
Hook: 5mm

1: Chain 41.
2: dc in the sixth chain from the hook, 1 dc, chain 1, skip 2 chains, 1 dc, chain 1, skip 2 chains, [2 dc, chain 1, skip 2 chains, 1 dc, chain 1, skip 2 chains] * repeat till the end.
3: Make 5 dc in each side of the 2 dc from the previous row… Or just ignore this explanation for the roof part and just follow the video.

Make four rows of the scalloped detailing, and for the other side of the roof make 3 rows and leave a slot in the fourth row to pull out the tissues. Join the two pieces of roof, and also single crochet around the entire roof for a neat edge around it.

House walls:

1. Chain 21.
2. Starting from the second chain from the hook, 19 sc.

22: Turn skip 1, Ch 1, 7 sc.

Make two of these.

3. Turn Ch 1, 37 sc.

Now its time to join all of the parts.

I used a single crochet join so that, it gives an effect of the walls being perpendicular to one another. To join the roof I used a brown colored yarn.

The windows and doors are pretty much self-explanatory and you can place them  however you please.
