Can I begin this post by asking you to please make bonnets for your babies when they are little. Bonnets have an instant charm, an old worldly beauty that look great on babies. Not just aesthetics, they protect your baby from the harsh winds much better that any other apparel. And my vote is for these bunny ears baby bonnet.

Let me explain some of the features of this beautiful baby bonnet. It is made to fit sizes from newborn to 6 month old. The bunny ears baby bonnet is worked with the half double crochet and looks amazing. It has instructions on how to attach the bunny ears to the bonnet. Most importantly these bunny ears baby bonnet have a beautiful slip stitch ribbing to keep the bonnet from sliding off.

Now start making the ribbing

Please watch the video to understand how to do the sl st ribbing better.

  1. Chain 6. Turn
  2. Start working in the third chain from the hook, 4 sl st. Turn.
  3. Ch 1, 4 sl st. Turn.
  4. Ch 1, 4 sl st. sl st to the first stitch on the bonnet.

Repeat the steps all the way around the front of the bonnet making a sl st ribbing in the front.

Straps:

Please make nice thick straps for the bonnet, the think cord ones posses strangling risks.
