Hello boys & girls, I’ve been on the hunt for a good free pattern to make crochet dress for dolls with no luck.
I was able to make the clothes sewn along with the amigurumi dolls but never changeable doll clothes. After constantly staring at cute crochet doll clothes on the internet I put my mind onto making a few.
Now, my 3-year old is at that age where she likes playing dress up, on herself or for her dolls it felt like the time was right to make these. The dresses were made to fit this crochet bunny rabbit.
Here are the set of crochet clothes that I’ve made so far:
- Crochet dress/frocks for dolls
- Crochet dungarees/pants for dolls
- Crochet pullover/sweater for dolls.
To make the dress you’ll need,
- Carnival soft 8 ply, premium acrylic yarn.
- Crochet hook size: 2.5mm
- Button
- Tapestry needle to sew the button to the dress.
Abbreviations:
- ch = chain stitch
- st, sts = stitch, stitches
- sc = single crochet
- hdc = half double crochet
- inc = increase (2sc in one stitch)
- dec = decrease (2sc together)
- sl st = slip stitch

Crochet dungarees
Rnd 01: Chain 12. Join with the sl st to the first chain.
Rnd 02-12: 12SC. (12)
Make another one of this, and join using the following pattern.
Rnd 13: Chain 3, (Join with the other leg) 12SC, Chain 3, (Join) 12SC. (30)
Rnd 14-19: SC around. (30)
Crochet the top part of the dungarees.
Rnd 20: 5SC, Turn.
Rnd 21-23: Ch 1, 7SC, Turn.
Rnd 24: Ch1, 7SC, Chain 16(strap)
Now, find the beginning sc of the 3SC that is worked in between the two legs. SC in it to join the straps.
Then, crochet 3SC, Chain 16(other strap). Join on top of the other side (As shown in the picture)
SC down the top and around, till the back. Finish off.
Crochet overalls
This one is similar to the pattern on top, except it was made for a chubbier bunny, so the size is a little bit bigger.
Also, I have used the half double crochet stitch(hdc) to make this pair of overalls. Hence, it works up a bit quicker. Bonus, it comes with a video tutorial.
Legs:
Foundation Chain : Ch 12. Join with the first chain to form a circle .
- R1 : Ch 2, 12hdc, sl st (on top of Ch2 to close)
- R2-5 : Ch 2, 12hdc, sl st.
Cut yarn for the first leg[leg1]. Keep on crocheting for the second leg, using the same yarn to join the two legs[leg2].
- R6: Ch 2, 12hdc[leg2], Ch 4, 13hdc[leg1], Ch 4
- From the next round on, we’ll be working in contiuous rounds.
- R7: 13hdc, 4hdc, 13hdc, 4hdc.
- R8-10: 13hdc, 4hdc, 13hdc, 4hdc.
When you are done with R10, make 5hdc to start making the front part of the overalls.
- R11: Ch 2, 11hdc
- R12: Ch 2, 11hdc
- R13: Ch 2, 11hdc
Now start making the straps, Ch 12 and sc in to the back side across. Watch the video to help you understand better.
