Hello there, let’s just say lazing around in the house might have inspired me to make this palm sized house key chain. The pattern’s a no big fuss and might only take you a day to complete this entire project. Great gifting option for a tiny little doll/toy house. Also, makes a cute little house-warming gift for your friends who might have got a new house.
Crochet Hook : 2.5mm
Yarn : Medium weight off-white, brown, green colored yarn. Ultimately it all depends on how you want to decorate the house.
Note:
If there’s a semi colon in between rounds it means those rounds are single crochet around without and increase or decrease.
Walls of the house,
Make two of each of these types of walls
Chain 16
Turn, (skipping the first chain, sc 14, chain 1, turn) * 10 rows
Approx. 6 x 5 cms
Chain 13
Turn, (skipping the first chain, sc 11, chain 1, turn) * 10 rows
Approx. 5 x 5 cms
Row 11: chain 1, skip the first sc, sl st in the next, sc 8, sl st, sl st
Row 12: chain 1, skip the first sl st, skip the next sl st, sl st, sc 6, sl st, sl st
Row 13: chain 1, skip the first sl st, skip sl st, sl st, sc 4, sl st, sl st
Row 14: chain 1, skip the first sl st, skip sl st, sl st, sc 2, sl st, sl st
Base of the house,
Chain 16
Turn, (skipping the first chain, sc 14, chain 1, turn) * 12 rows
Door
Make two of these as well
Chain 7
Turn, (skipping the first chain, sc 5, chain 1, turn) * 6 rows
Row 7: Chain 1, skip the first sc, sl st in the next, sc 2, sl st, sl st
Row 8: Chain 1, skip the first sl st, skip the next sl st as well, sc, sl st, sl st
Join all the walls of the house using single crochet instead of just sewing it so that you have a nice edge for every wall.
For the roof,
Make two of these and sew it to the walls of the house
Chain 16
Turn, (skipping the first chain, sc 14, chain 1, turn) * 8 rows
For the effect of tiles, I’ve used crocodile stitch. Just follow this video, including the stitch count and you should be able to achieve it. Instead of 5 dc at each side of the scallop I’ve used only four since it’s a tiny little project.
